Louis C. Polk accepted Christ as Savior in January 1985 under the leadership of the late Supt. D. L. Burns of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Austin, TX.  

 

Later in 1989, the Polk’s became members of McKinley Heights Church of God in Christ in Austin, TX. under the leadership of the late Supt. R. A. Grant and later under the leadership of Supt. Langston B. Williams, Jr.  

 

Under this leadership, he was ordained as a Deacon (1992) and later as an Elder (1995). While serving, the Lord impressed upon his heart to begin a Nursing Home ministry, and he also served in the Senior citizen’s ministry. Elder Polk was the Sunday school teacher of the men’s class and over the outreach ministry. He later partnered with another Elder and took part in street ministry in the surrounding community. Elder Polk was a faithful member of McKinley Heights for eight years. 

 

Elder Polk moved to Houston, TX. in 1997 and served under the leadership of Supt. Leroy Thompson of Victory Temple Church of God in Christ. While serving as the assistant Pastor, he faithfully served in the following areas of ministry: the Sunday school teacher and later the Sunday school Supt., the Brotherhood Department and Youth ministry. Elder Polk served as acting pastor from 2018-2023 and on December 09, 2023, he was official appointed as Pastor of the Victory Temple Church by Bishop T. T. Terry, Prelate of the Texas Southeast Third Jurisdiction.

 

Elder Polk received his Biblical education at the College of Biblical Studies in Houston, TX. (2016-2018) and at Therapon Theological Seminary & Bible College in Houston, TX. where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biblical Doctrine (Class of 2020).  

 

In May 2023 through Loving Houston, Elder Polk entered partnership with Houston ISD Coop Elementary, and in October 2023, he began his schooling to be certified by the National School Chaplain Association to serve on the school campus as a chaplain.

In February 2024, Pastor Polk successfully completed the National School Chaplain Association Chaplaincy and Safety Training and is certified to be a School Chaplain.
